Minuit pour toujours est un jeu d'horreur rôliste en ceci que l'épouvante qu'il propose ne peut être émulée que par le jeu de rôle. Trois ministres (des MJ) à la solde d'un directeur général (super MJ) cherchent à attirer le citoyen (pauvre PJ) dans leurs épouvantables filets. Tous sont incarnés par des participants, tous peuvent perdre ou gagner. La réalité dévisse et les joueurs vivent un vertige que seul ce jeu de rôle peut nous montrer... Cette semaine avec Adrien, Valentin, Antoine et Fabien, nous revenons sur la publication de Minuit pour toujours et, cette fois, nous testons le jeu dans sa version finale. Comment le système de Minuit met-il toutes ses mouettes mécaniques dans un état de de stupeur ou de constante frustration? Comment met-il en place cette authentique fuite du réel? Ce jeu est-il nihiliste? Est-il cynique? Ou est-ce au contraire une œuvre foncièrement émancipatrice? Ce jeu dégueulasse me met hors de moi! Burton is perfect as Doctor John Faustus, the ultimate Renaissance man whose thirst for knowledge takes him beyond the confines of conventional wisdom into the forbidden mysteries which can only be accessed by a pact with the Devil in exchange for a human soul. This is the role he was was born to play, plummeting the depths of the psyche and all the angst that goes with it has always been what he does best. Andreas Teuber's portrayal of Mephistopheles is the perfect counterbalance to the histrionic Faustus. Disturbingly quiet, attentive and thoughtful his demonic persona wavers subtly between melancholy and malignant. It's amazing how his expressionless face could convey so much unspoken meaning. While the story is classic, the visuals at times hypnotic and Burton and Teuber superb, I found the presence of Elizabeth Taylor distracting and an unnecessary addition to the film. Aware of Richard and Liz's highly publicized love/hate relationship made her inclusion as his otherworldly lover a parody of their off-screen antics and detracted from the intended mood and mystery of the film.
Weirdly enough, that one game, with those people who had fun with losing instead of raging, was like salve on a burn. It gave me the briefest illusion that I was back with my friends S and R, shooting people, and trying stupid things as we also lost. I doubt I'll ever really play this game again to the degree that I once wanted to. And I don't think I'll ever have the group of friends that we once had. But those two guys, who laughed and made dumb jokes tonight, you don't even know how much that meant to a random stranger on your team. So thank you. If you've read this far, thanks. Non il coraggio di Peter perché questa sarebbe una richiesta impossibile. Nessuno è come Peter. Tutti quanti noi siamo cresciuti conoscendo la storia di Peter Pan: chi, infatti, non ha visto almeno una volta il cartone animato Disney, oppure tutti i movies? Ebbene come sempre leggere il romanzo scritto dal pugno del geniale Barrie, permette di riflettere sul personaggio protagonista della storia. Al di là del mito di restare sempre bambini, il personaggio Peter Pan è un continuo dualismo di concetti in antitesi tra loro: è un bambino (ha ancora i denti da latte: "le piccole perle"), ma in r.. Questo viene spacciato come libro per bambini, forse perchè la maggior parte conosce solo la versione zuccherosa ed edulcorata di Disney. L'originale è più inquietante di Lolita (letto in contemporanea), e la rappresentazione di un mondo di bambini senza genitori, insidiati da indiani e pirati, beh, sembra una metafora abbastanza scoperta! Peter Pan riesce a portarsi via Wendy e fratelli con la promessa di avventure e solo il rimorso di Wendy determinano il loro (assolutamente non gioioso) ritor.. Che piacevole scoperta.
